❋
The Seedling Fund
Eligibility & Application
Every term, Seeds & Trees opens one spot in each of our programs for a child from a single-parent or low-income family. This page explains who can apply, how to apply, and how spots are given.
❋ Who can apply
A family may apply if at least one of the following describes their situation:
Single-parent household. The child lives primarily with one parent or guardian who is the main caregiver and provider for the household.
Low-income household. The family is facing financial strain that makes program fees difficult to cover. This may include families who:
receive the BC Affordable Child Care Benefit
receive BC income assistance or disability assistance
have experienced a recent job loss, reduction in income, or major life change
otherwise find that program costs would stretch the family budget too far
If you're unsure whether your family qualifies, we encourage you to apply anyway.
❋ What we'll ask for
We keep the process simple and respectful. In your application, please include:
Your name and contact information
Your child's first name
The program your child would like to join, plus a second choice if you have one
A few sentences about your family's situation and why the Seedling Fund would help
❋ Privacy
All applications are kept confidential. Information you share is used only to review your application. Seedling Fund children are welcomed exactly like every other child, and other families will not know how a spot was filled.
❋ How to apply
Email hello@seedsandtrees.org with the subject line "Seedling Fund Application" and the details listed above.
Applications close one week before each program begins. Once the selection is made, we'll reply to every family who applied, whether or not they were offered a spot.
Every child deserves room to grow. We'll save a spot for yours.
